Stinkin' Thinkin' Keeps Us Sick
If you think you can't, you won't.

If you think you can, you will.

Change your mind, change your life.

Sounds woo-woo, doesn't it? Most of us are raised with a materialistic mindset. If we can't see it, it must not exist.
But the science of neuroplasticity has discovered that our own thoughts are the most important determiner of what we will, or won't become. Researchers have proven that our own thoughts produce pathways throughout our brains for our neurochemicals to travel on. And those pathways get wider and wider with each corresponding thought, making it easier to travel.
What Does This Mean?
Think beautiful thoughts and the road to beauty is easier to travel.
Think damaging thoughts and the road to damage becomes wider.
It's sad that many people prevent themselves from getting better. Why? Because they simply refuse to believe that medical science has discovered new ways for us to heal.
Even though the scientific evidence that autoimmune disease and chronic illness of all kinds are is proven in hundreds of thousands of case studies, people think instead:
"Well, my doctor didn't tell me that."
"My doctor told me that there's no cure for autoimmune disease."
"My mother has it, my sister has it, and I have it. It's just the way it is for me."
"This is my life. There's nothing I can do."
"I'm stuck in this illness."
"I can't control this."
"I already eat 'healthy' and I'm still sick."
"What I eat isn't that important. I have a serious disease that can't be healed"
"I can't give up my favorite foods. I'll fail. I always have in the past, and I always will."
"I'm not strong enough to do this."

"I'm alone in my suffering. No one really understands."

My heart breaks when I hear people make these statements. Because I know that until they can open their minds up to the truth, they will continue in their suffering. Their own mindset stops them from achieving optimum health and vitality before they even get started. If they continue in this thinking pattern, they will simply never get well.

How we think is a choice we make every day, every hour, every minute.

Scientifically, it's proven that thinking positively changes our existence dramatically. And, it's the first critical step to getting our health back.

Spiritually, all the religions in the world agree. Isn't that interesting? They all tapped into a fundamental truth... that our own thoughts direct our path in life.
For instance, the Christian Bible teaches in Philippians 4:4-9:
4 Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is with you.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
It's true in life. The people who think "I can" actually are the ones who do. And sadly, the people who think, "I can't" generally don't, until they start thinking, "I can".

Scientists have also come to learn that people who have a deep sense of spirituality often are the ones who have a more positive, peaceful mindset, and therefore can and do achieve great things in their lives. Why? Because they believe they are not alone, and they have something far more powerful then they are giving them strength and purpose in life.
So I challenge you today to stop your stinkin' thinkin', and start thinking in ways that will encourage your path to ultimate health.
How?
Be a parent to yourself. If your child says, "I can't." "I'm ugly." "I'm not good enough" in any way, do you correct them and replace their negative thoughts with positive ones? Of course! Do this for yourself. For every negative thought you notice, change it.
"I can't get better. I'm just stuck in this" instead becomes,

"I can get better. I will learn the latest ways others are healing, and I will too. I will get there".
"I'm alone, I'm confused" instead becomes,

"I am not alone. Others have traveled this journey and I can join with them to help me. I can and will learn new ways to heal each week so I am no longer confused.

"This is too hard. I can't change. I'm just going to fail anyway, what's the point?!" instead becomes,
"I can change. I am not a piece of concrete, stuck in my ways. I am a living beautiful person, and I am growing, learning and changing every day. I am learning how to make my body healthy again, and just like all the others who have done it, I am going to get healthy too!"

Here's the trick, you must make those positive thoughts far outweigh the negative ones. By practicing positive, truthful thoughts, you are literally changing those pathways in your brain. The more you think positively, the larger and easier that path will become. By stopping negative thoughts instantly, that path in your brain becomes smaller and more difficult for your neurochemicals to travel.
Your positive thoughts will actually change your physical brain and how it works, leading to a happier life.
That's the science.
What's your choice? Continue down the same negative journey that has only achieved desperation and progressive illness... or start a new one and get your life back?
The choice is yours now.
As a true geek with an analytical mindset, I had a hard time coming to believe in things I thought I couldn't see. But in my heart, I always knew there was more to life. I always knew deep inside that there was a "God" -- a very real spiritual presence that governed everything we see. So in my 20's I set out to find the truth of this thing called "life".

My own path to spirituality was long and painstaking. Every ounce of spiritual teaching from all the major religions had to be either proven or disproven. I filled books with comparison/contrast lists (please don't laugh!) about what had the possibility of being "true". And I eventually came to a stunning conclusion: While they all have similar teachings regarding positive thinking (which actually aligns with the latest science of neuroplasticity), when you get very deep in the teachings, they also are contradictory of each other in many ways. The obvious conclusion to religions that are contradictory means, they cannot all be "true". In other words, not all roads lead to Heaven.

I had to throw out the idealistic notion that they were all leading to the same truth, and find the ones that had the strongest possibility of actually being true.

Years of study lead me to a place of confidence and peace in my own spirituality. For a nerd like me, it all boiled down to logic. Which spiritual teaching had the most evidence of actually being true?

I found that the Christian belief that Jesus Christ actually is the Son of God has the most overwhelming evidence to back it up. So I chose to give my life to Jesus, and have been following His teachings for about 30 years now. That's not to say I follow a man-made religion full of man-made rules and judgemental people... I follow Jesus directly. Jesus says, "Love God first, and love others above yourself".

Believing what Jesus says about me in the Bible has given me a peace and a confidence that I never had before. For instance, He is the creator of everything we know. His ways are far above our human understanding, obviously. And even so, He formed me in my mother's womb and created me to be unique and special in His eyes, with a special purpose for being. Me? Wow, even me. And with all my faults, He sings over me with a deep love and joy that is far beyond my knowledge. Ya, the creator of our universe sings over me. Now that's a powerful positive thought that gives me joy and peace every time I remember these loving words.
And better still, Jesus says I am never alone. He is always with me, working His power and love through me, creating me to be everything I was meant to be. No matter how many times I screw up, He picks me up, dusts me off, and says, "Now, let's try again together. You'll get this". And when people come against me (as happens in all of our lives), He is for me. Yes, the creator of all there is stands next to me and says, "Hey, this one is Mine. I love her, I'm working my power through her, and I'm rooting for her. Who are you, little human, to say otherwise???" That makes me laugh out loud with joy. Because it means that I have nothing to fear. Nothing, and no one. Ever. Forever.
Now that's another positive, mind-blowing, beautiful thought.

Jesus said in John 15:4-17:

4 “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.
5-8 “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.
9-10 “I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.
11-15 “I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I’m no longer calling you servants because servants don’t understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I’ve named you friends because I’ve let you in on everything I’ve heard from the Father.
16 “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.
17 “But remember the root command: Love one another.

Keeping my thoughts aligned with the truth of God is what allowed me to believe that I can get well. I looked at both the scientific evidence and the countless case studies of others using the new science to get well. And I believed that if they could do it, so could I. So I took my first step to getting well -- I believed that it was possible.
Then I had to step out and try the protocols, and see if they actually made a change in my body. I needed to see the evidence for myself. And even though I was a bonafide carb-a-holic who ate healthy but also cheated all the time, the protocols worked. Just like they work for all people. Because it just makes sense: Out with the bad, in with the good is just basic, fundamental biochemistry.

The choice is yours. Will you believe that you can also be like me, and the many others who have healed their autoimmune disease and chronic illness?

Will you then try the protocols and prove it to yourself, that you truly can reduce your pain and inflammation, and feel better?

The choice is now before you.
I pray you will choose to change your life.
It ultimately doesn't matter if you hire me to help you or someone else, as long as you get the help that you need to get well. Everything I've said here is not for marketing purposes. It's to give you strength, hope, love, and encouragement.

At the end of my life, God is not going to ask me, "How many clients did you have?" or "Did you make a lot of money?" or "Were you well known and famous?" No, He is going to ask, "Did you love others? Did you give people truth and hope with the knowledge I have given you?" And if I can say yes to that question every day, then I will hear from Him, "Well done, good and faithful servant." There is no greater joy than to hear this from your Loving Father.

So I pray for you today that you will believe that you can get well. I pray that you will make a powerful change in your life, and you will join with someone who is well-trained in Functional Medicine.
